
Detox diets for weight loss bring about healthy functioning of organs. Can this be true? I can't see why not. We eat vegetables that have been treated with chemicals, our meat, unless we buy organic, have antibiotics and hormones in them and we are exposed to pollutants in our environment. It would make sense to go on a detox diet wouldn't it? Most of the detox diets you are familiar with: the lemon and cayenne pepper concoction, the cabbage soup diet, etc. You can lose a lot of weight with this diet. But in actuality, if used for a prolonged period of time, you risk starving yourself, forcing the body to feed on itself. The body needs balance of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins to function properly.
